It doesn’t take a village to raise a child, it takes a village to raise a mother.

I am rooting for you, whether you’re on your journey to motherhood, are in the trenches, or are a seasoned “mom veteran”. I have been there, I am here to help, and I want to be part of your village
I know everyone says being a parent is the hardest job in the world, but I was fully unprepared for how much my own experiences would impact my ability to be the calm, regulated mom I wanted to be.
I remember becoming a Mom for the first time - unsure of the road ahead and scared of messing up. Feeling invisible. Struggling and not asking for help because I didn’t want people to think I wasn’t grateful, or that I didn’t love my baby. Experiencing “mom rage” and wondering what was wrong with me.
As a Mom and therapist, I believe it’s possible to heal from the past and break the cycle.
If you were to ask me why I became a doula, I’d say it’s because I love birth.
But, if you were to ask me how I really feel about it, I’d say I, too, have been where you’ve been.
I had a vision of how I wanted my birth to be that didn’t come to fruition.
I grieved this loss of my dream birth while being told “all that matters is a healthy baby.”
I’ve also experienced having the birth I so badly wanted, which healed the part of me that was told my feelings and wants didn’t matter the first time around.
These experiences fueled my desire to support other women during such a pivotal time in their lives; ensuring that they feel seen and safe, and know they matter.
I love witnessing the power of women as they not only give birth to their baby, but to themselves.

My qualifications
Master’s in Social Work from the University of Windsor. Registered Social Worker since 2011. Certified Canadian Counsellor. Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Certification as a Labour Doula for 4 years. Certified in Perinatal Mental Health.
I strongly believe our children need moms, not martyrs. Your children deserve a mom who takes care of herself and prioritizes her wellbeing.

I believe you are so much more capable than you give yourself credit for. You can do hard things, but you can’t do them all at once and you don’t have to do them alone!
I value authentic and non-judgemental relationships. I want you to be unfiltered, raw and real. Believe me, there’s nothing I haven’t seen or heard before!
I firmly believe that if it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive. As I get older, this has become my life motto. I make decisions based on if it contributes to, or takes away from, my peace.
